Lucy Kirkwood
Typographic Designer | Auckland
My name is Lucy Kirkwood. I am a creative individual who took off overseas in 2012 to soak in the colours and cultures around the world. Currently living in the South of France, as a proud Kiwi girl enjoying life away from home. I come from a creative background having grown up with an inspiring mum who is a talented interior designer. From a young age I have been drawn to art, music, photography and design. I particularly like working with typography and specialise in generating ideas and copy writing.
My Kiwi Dictionary was inspired by a university project based on defining Kiwi's. Naturally, New Zealanders have come to develop our own brand of slang. We are a mixing pot of words and phrases; an English language with a unique "antipodes" twist.
The content of this book varies from serious to truly outrageous, however all of these words do exist in our everyday dialect. A lot like myself, I like a bit of inappropriate, and a little looseness around the politically correct. This is a great gift for a person with a sense of humour.
