Trestle Union is Nikolai Sorensen and Mike Grobelny. And also, in collaboration, Julia Atkinson of StudioHome fame.
The guys: "Here at Trestle Union we believe that good design can be affordable, and with our range of trestle products, we have created well priced products that don’t compromise on style."
Part of the inspiration for Trestle Union came from Nikolai's trip to Mexico, watching market merchants transporting their whole stalls—trinkets and all—about 5km to their market site. They’d set up their trestle tables, spend the day selling their knick-knacks, then pack up and head home for the night.
The merchants’ tables were made with one thing in mind: practicality. They were light, they were easy to set up, and because Mexican people owned them, they were also resourcefully made.
"Through quality Kiwi workmanship, we created trestle tables that are high quality, practical, and affordable. Our tables can be popped up instantly to provide maximum desk space while taking up minimal room. The use of slim, clean lines enabled us to produce trestles that are visually lightweight despite their sturdy construction. We are constantly searching for the best materials at the lowest prices, so we can pass on stylish pieces that are affordable. We also promote upcycling, like using old doors for tops."
Recently Trestle Union teamed up with reknowned design blogger, Julia Atkinson [StudioHome] to create a range of Pot Plant Stands, perfect for the contemporary home or apartment The results of this team have ensured a product range that's beautifully designed and quality crafted.
